A reference for So’lek’s dialogue, restraint, anger, humour, teaching, and chosen attachments. Canon gives him a substantial speaking voice: economical when appropriate, but also explanatory, emotionally invested, and capable of sustained confrontation.

The foundation is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Keep the base game, tie-in history, and From the Ashes developments distinct when setting a scene. This is a source-grounded writing guide, not a complete transcription of every performance or expansion.
Tamtey is the name used for the protagonist in these stories. Her particular romance with So’lek is fic-specific, not a fixed game relationship.
So’lek is a survivor and experienced fighter whose distrust of the RDA and attachment to the Sarentu give his words practical and emotional stakes. Competence matters, but loss and vengeance are not decorative backstory he has already resolved.
Useful frame: a man who knows how to keep someone alive, and has not finished deciding what survival is for.
He is not simply “the quiet one.” He can teach, explain, argue, joke, encourage, accuse, and expose his own pain. Compression is one tool in his voice, not his entire personality.
English presentation does not establish that English is his native language or that his cultural fluency differs from Neytiri’s. Attend to the game’s rendering conventions rather than inventing a linguistic biography from performance.
Combat compresses speech. Instruction may use several complete sentences. Ethical confrontation may build through questions, repetition, and rising pressure. Trust can make him more expansive as well as quieter.
Do not impose a fixed word limit, forbid contractions, or reduce every answer to one gravelly imperative. His words should be as long as the particular communication requires.
